    About — RootNous™

A research lab built around a single question: how do machines come to understand the world?

    Chirantan Ghosh

    Founder & Researcher

Chirantan Ghosh is the founder of RootNous, where he leads foundational and applied research across computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, remote sensing, and robotics. His work explores the principles by which machines perceive, reason, and act in the physical world — from sub-pixel analysis of earth-observation imagery to control of autonomous systems.

Before founding RootNous, Chirantan worked on machine learning algorithm optimization problems, publishing peer-reviewed research on earth data. He is interested in the perceptual pattern recognition with structured, formal reasoning, and in translating rigorous research into deployable systems for the earth, medical, and autonomous-systems domains.

He publishes openly, and builds commercial products out of research work when a discovery is ready to leave the lab. He holds the prestigious 'edu.africa' domain — previously reserved for public and economic benefits by the registry — granted to him by special permission, underscoring his commitment to knowledge and global credibility.
